Bourne Town face Lincoln United in the final of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy at Boston United

Manager Michael Goode hopes the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy final will be another occasion for the Bourne Town fans to enjoy in what has been a memorable season for the club.

The Wakes face league rivals Lincoln United in the final tonight (Wednesday) at Boston United's Jakemans Community Stadium (7.45pm).

Goode's side have already booked their place in the United Counties League Premier Division North play-offs this season.

It follows a record-breaking club run in the FA Vase where the Bourne fans have turned out in force to support their side who will be playing in the club's first county final for more than 20 years.

Goode said: "The club hasn't had an occasion like it for some time so we've got a cup final for the fans.

"They will turn out in force for it.

"They've had some great days out this season and it's another evening to enjoy and we'll do our best to win it."

Bourne face a Lincoln side who are the current holders of the county crown.

The Whites have won both league meetings between the two sides this season and are currently top of the table.

They've got a two-point advantage at the helm over second-placed Eastwood who they face this weekend in a huge title showdown.

Bourne boss Goode added: "I'm not sure how Lincoln will play it because their minds, first and foremost, will be on what they do against Eastwood on Saturday.

"They have to avoid defeat against Eastwood on Saturday so it will be a strange one for them.

"They obviously want to win the cup but they've got a massive league game three days later.

"Their priority at the start of the season will have been to win the league so who knows what their mentality will be like on Wednesday.

"We'll be going hell for leather to try and win it."

Bourne were boosted by the return of top goalscorer Zac Allen from injury in Saturday's defeat at Heanor.

Henry Dunn should also return for the cup clash after missing the loss due to illness.

Goode added: "The pitch will be good so we can play better football and we've got people coming back at the right point.

"We've got to tighten up at the back and be a little bit more expansive going forward and also start taking our chances when they present themselves.

"We are a match for anybody in a one-off game as we've proved against Eastwood twice and the games in the FA Vase.

"It's how we've got to approach the next few games and the play-offs because they are all one-off games.

"We've picked up our form recently after a bad February and we're still in the mix.

"You set out at the start of the season with the aim of getting close to the play-offs and we're in there now.

"It's one part of it achieved and we've now to focus on the next part of it which is to try and win a cup."

Bourne then return to league action on Saturday with a home match against Belper United.
