Bourne Town take on AFC Mansfield in the United Counties League Premier Division North play-off semi-final
Manager Michael Goode wants Bourne Town to look back with pride on their campaign as the Wakes prepare for the next chapter in a super season.
They face AFC Mansfield on Saturday in a home match at the JJ Mac Stadium in the United Counties League Premier Division North play-off semi-final (3pm).
After winning promotion following their Division One title triumph last season, the Wakes finished in second spot, just one point behind champions Lincoln United.
They have also enjoyed a club record-breaking run in the FA Vase and reached the final of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy before losing to this season's nemesis' Lincoln.
Goode said: "Every manager will always look back at games and results in which we should have done slightly better in.
"But ultimately, after 38 games, the best and most consistent team will come out on top.
"We've just got to feel very proud as a group of players, management team and club that we've come up from Division One and got within a whisker of getting a second title win.
"I don't think it has happened very often so we've got to feel very proud of what we've done.
"We've won more league games than anyone else but it was just those extra defeats when we didn't have a great February.
"The FA Vase would have had some sort of impact but we've got to take everything out of that because it was a great experience.
"It's a tough division this season and we've done everything that we could."
Bourne have had mixed fortunes against AFC Mansfield in their two league meetings this season.
The Bulls won 2-1 at the Abbey Lawn on the opening day of the campaign before Bourne reversed the result in the away match last month.
Goode is now hoping the crowds turn out in force to back Bourne who attracted an attendance of nearly 900 in their last play-off semi-final two seasons ago.
He added: "Mansfield are a good side but we'll give it a really good shot.
"I'm sure the people of Bourne will come out and give us a lot of support.
"It would be great to get a record attendance and top four figures.
"The whole feel around the club has continued from last season and we've just got to keep that going for a little bit longer.
"We've had a great season and it isn't over yet because one chapter has closed and another one opens up."
If successful on Saturday, Bourne will also have home advantage in the play-off final against either Eastwood CFC or Boston Town.
The Wakes landed the runners-up berth after a 2-0 away win at Harrowby United on Easter Monday to move above Eastwood CFC following their defeat to Belper United.
Two first half goals secured victory for the Wakes at the JRL Brickwork Stadium with Henry Dunn breaking the deadlock midway through the opening period.
Zak Munton's cross was helped on by a Harrowby defender for Dunn to head home at the far post.
Munton saw another effort turned to safety by Arrows goalkeeper Alex Smith shortly after before Bourne doubled their lead from a set piece as Robbie Ellis bundled the ball home at the far post.
Bourne remained in control of the contest after the break with Bailey Baker and Ellis both going close to adding to their tally.
Harry Allcock went close to cutting the deficit for the Arrows with a curling shot from outside the area that rattled the crossbar.
