Caythorpe school in top 10 per cent for Key Stage 2 SATs results




A village school is among the top 10 per cent in the county for Key Stage 2 SATs results, according to the Department for Education.

Pupils at Caythorpe Primary School have achieved 79 per cent in their latest SATs results, bypassing the benchmark for the expected standard in the core subjects during the academic year 2018-19.

Pupils at the school have been working hard in all their subjects with 11 per cent reaching a higher standard in reading, writing and maths, an increase of seven per cent since 2017.

Headteacher Katie Brockington said she is delighted.

She said: “We are extremely proud of our results, which are a consequence of excellent staff-pupil relationships within a positive learning environment.

“Both staff and pupils are motivated and committed to everyone achieving their full potential at Caythorpe Primary.

“We have an awareness of the importance of individuality and different learning styles, supported by interventions to support individual needs.”
