Defendants accused of drink and drug driving, assault and littering appear in Lincolnshire courts




Defendants from the Grantham area accused of drink and drug driving, possession of drugs and littering have appeared before Lincolnshire magistrates.

The following defendants have recently appeared in the county’s courts.

Michael Gardner, aged 27, of Unwin Green, South Witham, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Moor Lane, South Witham, on October 15, 2022, after the proportion of alcohol measured 120 milligrammes in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes of alcohol. Gardner was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £500. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £200 and costs of £85.

Kirst Clayton, of William Street, Grantham, was fined £150 for littering by dropping a coffee cup in Grantham on May 31, 2022. Clayton was ordered to pay costs of £119.89 and a surcharge of £34.

Travis Dawson, aged 21, of Tamar Court, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving in Grantham when the proportion of a controlled drug, namely Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol, exceeded the specified limit. He was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £120. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £28. Dawson also pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis in Grantham on November 24, 2022. Magistrates ordered the destruction of the drug. No separate penalty was made for this offence.

Matthew Laughton, aged 40, of Belton Lane, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and without insurance in Ketton, Rutland, on March 18, 2022. He was fined £120 and his licence was endorsed with six penalty points for the insurance offence. No separate penlty was made for the licence offence. He was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £48.

Estelle Brudenell, aged 58, of Cecil Street, Grantham, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Beacon Lane, Grantham, on February 23, 2023, when the proportion of alcohol measured 104 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. She was banned from driving for 45 months and fined £280. Magistrates ordered costs of £85 and a surcharge of £112.

Luke Fitch, aged 29, of Great Close, South Witham, pleaded guilty to damaging two doors belonging to the Sycamore Centre, Beacon Lane, Grantham, on April 24, 2023. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £16.

Luke Garner, aged 31, of Tanners Lane, Corby Glen, was ordered to undertake a community order for two counts of assault by beating in Bourne on October 22, 2022. Garner must abstain from alcohol for 120 days and undertake a Building Better Relationships programme. He was ordered to pay compensation of £100. He pleaded guilty to possessing a quantity of cannabis on the same date. Magistrates ordered the drug to be forfeited and destroyed. No costs were ordered.

Daniel Scoffield, aged 34, of Witham Place, Grantham, pleaded guilty to stealing meat, value inknown, from Aldi in Grantham, on January 18. Scoffield was given a 12 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.

Juliet Evans, aged 50, of Larch Close, Grantham, pleaded guilty to possessing a quantity of cocaine at Grantham Police Station on March 25, 2023. Magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drug and fined Evans £120. Costs of £85 were ordered.

Malgorzata Mocior, aged 33, of Wharf Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance in Earlesfield Lane, Grantham, on December 15, 2022. Her licence was endorsed with six penalty points and she was fined £320 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £128. She also admitted driving without a licence. No separate penalty was made.

Christopher David Frankish, aged 35, of Turnor Crescent, Grantham, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance in Colsterworth on November 20, 2023. He was banned from driving for six months and fined £900. He was ordered to pay a surcharge of £360 and costs of £110.

Kristofer Hoyes, aged 25, of Uplands Drive, Grantham, had his licence endorsed with nine penalty points and was fined £660 for driving at a speed of 68mph in a 40mph zone on the A17 at Swineshead Bridge. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £264 and costs of £110.

Eli Dimitrova, aged 40, of George Street, Grantham, was fined £660 and her licence ensorsed with six points for driving without insurance on Harlaxton Road, Grantham, on November 7, 2022. She was ordered to pay a surcharge of £264 and costs of £110.
