Police name man who died in Grantham street after arresting another man on suspicion of murder
Police have named a man who died in Grantham at the weekend after arresting a man on suspicion of murder.
Lincolnshire Police say the man who was pronounced dead at a property in Eton Street, Grantham, on Saturday was 38-year-old Tony McDermott.
A police spokesperson said: “His family is being offered support by specially-trained officers, and we would ask that their privacy is respected at this time.
“Our investigation into the circumstances of his death are ongoing, and we will remain in the local area for the next few days while forensic investigations and other enquiries by investigators are carried out.”
A 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody where he is being interviewed by detectives.
Officers say they received an emergency 999 call on Saturday, October 14, just after 4.20am, reporting a man had been found with serious injuries at a house in Eton Street.
