Jobs created as The Range names opening date for Grantham store

A recruitment campaign has been launched by The Range as it searches for staff for its new store in Grantham.

February 5 next year has been set as the opening date for the new store which will be housed in units at the Gonerby Road retail park.

Opening a new store is always an exciting moment for the company and Grantham is no exception.

The home and garden retailer is already advertising for 12 position at the store.

The advertised positions vary from manager posts to sales and warehouse assistants.

They include store managers, office manager, warehouse manager as well as sales assistants, warehouse assistants plus security personnel and cleaners.

The new store will create about 80 part-time and full-time jobs.

Owned and run by Plymouth-based entrepreneur, Chris Dawson, The Range is popular for its offer of quality products across 16 departments.

These include DIY, arts and crafts, furniture and homewares,

Mr Dawson said: “Opening a new store is always an exciting moment for the company and Grantham is no exception.

“We feel that The Range is a unique shopping experience that has something for everyone.

He said: “And we look forward to inviting the people of Grantham to experience what The Range is all about.”

The Grantham store will be spread over two floors and will also have an outdoor garden centre.

Mr Dawson added: “We are thrilled to announce our plans to open a new store in Grantham.

“The new store will be located at Grantham Retail Park and we plan to open its doors to customers at 9am on Friday, February 5 next year.

Mr Dawson said: “The Range is currently going through a period of expansion and has many new stores planned for 2016.

“Opening this many stores helps to bring thousands of much needed jobs into the retail sector of the UK economy and the new store in Grantham is no exception.”

Planning permission for the new store was granted by South Kesteven District Council last May but issues over access have delayed refurbishment work on the premises.
