Reading volunteer Nora treated by pupils for her 80th birthday
A volunteer who has read to pupils at a Grantham primary school for 26 years was made a fuss of as she turned 80.
Nora Bryan was presented with a birthday card, flowers and a gift from all pupils and staff at Cliffedale Primary School.
They were given to her by two pupils who share her birthday, which was on Sunday.
School administrator Estelle Drayton said: “Mrs Bryan is very much appreciated and loved by pupils and staff, both past and present.
“She is a very special member of the Cliffedale family.
“It was a privilege to be part of her special celebration.”
The birthday treat came at the end of a celebration assembly during which Mrs Bryan presented the new Children’s Council with sweatshirts donated by Grantham Clothing.
Estelle added: “The 2018-19 Children’s Council have already held their first meeting of the year and are taking their new role very seriously.”
