Refusing to pay child support and crashing into a wall land Grantham defendants in court
Grantham area defendants brought before the courts recently include:
Clair Brown, of Buckminster Gardens, Grantham: guilty of dropping a cigarette in Greenwoods Row, Grantham, on September 13. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge.
Darius Sereiva, of Cornwall Close, Grantham: guilty of dropping a Corona beer bottle in Greenwoods Row, Grantham, on August 28 and leaving it there. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge.
Victoria Towning, of Wilks Road, Grantham: guilty of dropping a cigarette in Greenwoods Row, Grantham, on August 12. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge.
Michael David Burkett, 33, of Westgate, Grantham: admits assaulting a male by beating in Sleaford on New Year’s Day. He was made the subject of a community order including 100 hours’ unpaid work and ordered to pay £250 in compensation.
David Gutteridge, 57, of High Street, Colsterworth: guilty of using a Mitsubishi Warrior on Hillingford Way, Grantham, on July 11 without insurance. He was fined £660, ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.

Andrew Palmer, 56, of Washdyke Lane, Fulbeck: guilty of driving a Citroen Xsara Picasso on the A17 at Cranwell without due care and attention, on August 3. He was fined £293, ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with five penalty points.
Scott Jonathan Sargent, 31, of Harrowby Lane, Grantham: guilty of driving a Ford vehicle in Wharf Road, Grantham, without insurance, on June 4. He was fined £120, ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
Carl Alan Moss, 43, of College Street, Grantham: it was found that Moss showed wilful refusal to pay child support. He was committed to prison for 42 days, postponed for 19 months on the condition that he pays £100 a month. He was ordered to pay costs of £45 to the Department for Work and Pensions.

Liam John Berry, 34, of Goodliff Road, Grantham: admits driving a Ford Fiesta in Harlaxton Road, Grantham, on December 20 with 97 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35mcg. He also admits driving in Thorpe Road, Melton Mowbray, on January 10 with 55mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. He was committed to prison for four months suspended for 12 months as the two offences were committed close together and involved high readings. Berry was also ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge and £85 costs and banned from driving for 36 months.
Jamie Oakes, 27, of Harlaxton Road, Grantham: guilty of driving a Peugeot in Lincoln on June 6 without insurance. He was fined £660, ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.
Ruth Elizabeth Howell, 51, of George Street, Grantham: guilty of three counts of failing to provide information relating to the identification of the driver of a Ford Transit Connect who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence, on September 10, July 2 and October 23. She was fined £660, ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs and her driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.

Nicky Leigh Challis, 47, of Sixth Avenue, Grantham: admits importing a flick knife within the jurisdiction of the central criminal court, on or before November 7, 2018. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay a £20 victim surchrage and £85 costs.
Thomas Samuel Stuart Harris, 22, of River View Maltings, Grantham: admits having a knife in his possession on Hobart Road, Grantham, on October 18. He was fined £350 and ordered to pay a £35 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Daniel Callum Taylor, 24, of Fulford Close, Grantham: admits driving a Fiat Punto in Belton Lane, Grantham, on July 20 when damage was caused to a wall, and failing to stop. He also admits failing to give his details to the owner and reporting to police; driving without due care and attention; and driving without insurance. Taylor was made the subject of a community order including 80 hours’ unpaid work within 12 months and his driving licence endorsed with seven penalty points. He was also fined £460 and ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Matthew Jonathan Brodie, 35, of Houghton Road, Grantham: admits failing to comply with the community requirement of a suspended sentence order by failing to attend appointments. He was fined £50. Detention was deemed served by reaason of time already spent in custody.
