Swingathon returns to Lincolnshire with additional fetish festival held across three days

An event for swingers is returning to the county with an additional festival on offer this year.

Swingathon is returning to Lincolnshire from July 18 until July 21, after it was held in Allington, near Grantham, last year, but it’s moving to a bigger venue this year.

Due to last year’s popularity, this year’s event will also include FetFest, another festival held across the three days aimed at people with fetishes.

The event offers a “very social” and “safe space” for “people from different lifestyles to meet new people,” said Kerry Voellner, of Red Ammunition Events which organises the event.

Kerry added: “This year it’s bigger, better and bolder. There will be fire breathers, pole dancers, acrobats and much more.

“We have a huge LGBT space and we do a lot of workshops. There is a whole holistic offering.

“There are two festivals this year. They are separate but on the same day.

“We realised quite quickly there was a bigger demographic and there are a lot of people into other alternative lifestyles.

“FetFest is for modern people who are into fetishes. We are just a normal festival for people with alternative lifestyles.”

Across the three days, there will also be a number of bands, DJs, dancers and comedy acts, and other entertainment including butt plug bingo and karaoke.

In the days leading up to Swingathon 2023, objections were raised in a South Kesteven District Council licensing committee meeting on whether to grant a temporary events notice (TEN) for the event.

Lincolnshire Police raised objections based on prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance and protecting children from harm.

However, the event was given the green light to go ahead.

“Last year’s event was absolutely overwhelming,” added Kerry.

She said: “Everyone had a great time. It was brilliant and the feedback was overwhelming.

“We thought we would be silly not to do it again. We attract people from all over the country and even have people coming from Europe.”

As a promoter behind the event, she said: “It feels really humbling to be in a position where you can offer these safe spaces.

“It puts us in a position of responsibility, but it’s also overwhelming because we are helping people live their best life.

“I’m looking forward to meeting new people, other guests who are coming back and different people from different lifestyles.

“It’s really exciting we are offering people their freedom. We are a festival like any other.”

The location of the Swingathon is not revealed until 24 hours before it starts for the safety of those attending.
