These are the coronation events happening in the Grantham area
The coronation of King Charles III will be celebrated across the Grantham area with street parties, picnics and a parade this weekend.
The new King will be coronated during a ceremony led by the Archbishop of Canterbury at Westminster Abbey in London, tomorrow (Saturday), alongside the Queen Consort.
This will be followed by ‘The Big Lunch' on Sunday, which will see communities gather for outdoor picnics and street parties.
The coronation concert will be screened from London on Sunday evening, then on bank holiday Monday, people have been encouraged by the King to give their time to a good cause as part of ’The Big Help Out’.
Mayor of Grantham Councillor Graham Jeal said: “It's not often that we have a coronation to celebrate.
“There are events and street parties all over Grantham which will be talked about long after the bunting has come down.
“I look forward to attending several street parties and especially the picnic on St Peter's Hill on Sunday afternoon - free entertainment, competitions and much more.”
Locally, there are many celebrations planned and we have put together a round-up of events.

We have over 20 towers with rings of bells within only a 10-minute drive of Grantham, but sadly, we only have four with a ringing band, so we've had to organise into teams to cover off all of the towers.”
