Sudbrook Moor Golf Club round-up
Sudbrook Moor's Levi Desmond has returned with silverware after travelling to Cheshire for two Scratch Open Championships.
Desmond finished equal third from a large entry of scratch amateurs competing for the Sandiway Oak over 36 holes on Saturday.
Two further rounds at neighbouring Delamere Forest Golf Club on Sunday saw Desmond produce even more excellent gross scores.
He took the Delamere Horn title for a successful early season warm-up.
Senior enthusiast Stuart Minter produced the steadiest scorecard of the field of 50 competitors at Sudbrook Moor to notch up his third trophy.
The Singleton Stableford Shield was donated to the club by its very first senior captain, Barry Singleton, in 1995.
Stuart's round started with a steady front nine but spiralled with 22 points on the closing nine.
This strong finish assured him of the triumph in a count-back with another card of 40 points, returned by Derek Armstrong.
Division One leading scores: Andy Milner 38, Nigel Corby 37 and Roy Nelson 36; Division Two - Stuart Minter and Derek Armstrong 40, Harry Cutmore and Peter Climpson 37, John Morley 36.
There was a pay-out of shares in the twos pot to Paul McCarthy, Nigel Corby, Andy Dunderdale, Phil Hilton and Les Watson.
