Sudbrook Moor Golf Club round-up
A burst of summer temperatures blessed the opening fixture in the scratch season of the county's South Lincolnshire League.
At Sudbrook Moor, team captain David Lee's selected six pairings were drawn to take on South Kyme.
It was certainly a close encounter throughout, with the home club eventually beating South Kyme 3.5-2.5.
The mid-field running result was squeaky tight, with one win and a halved match apiece.
Ben Bulmer holed a crucial putt to snatch a half with Ian Batty having fought back from Dormy Two (to be as many holes up as there are holes remaining).
The fourth pairing of Dan Blankney and Rob Reid had a strong win to lift Sudbrook Moor's hopes and match five brought home the vital conclusive point.
Rod Clay with Nigel Corby played the 18th the way it should be played to finish with a tidy one up result.
This is David Lee's second season as captain, having succeeded Martin Greene.
Division Three also comprises Boston's Kirton Holme, Tydd St Giles and Thorney Lakes, well to the south of the region, bordering on Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, respectively.
Fixtures run through to August with home and away dates with each club.
