Housing developer buys site off Leicester Road, Uppingham

A site with outline planning permission has been sold to a housing developer.

Davidsons Homes has bought a plot of land to the north of Leicester Road in Uppingham.

The site already has permission from Rutland County Council for a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, including 30 per cent affordable properties.

It is also earmarked for new homes in the Uppingham Town Council Neighbourhood Plan, written by residents and business owners in the town.

Davidsons Homes is responsible for the Oakham Pastures development off Uppingham Road, to the south of Oakham.

Rachel Pramayon, regional land director for the company, said: “We will be liaising with Uppingham Town Council to get feedback from local people on our plans ahead of submitting our reserved matters submission, ensuring that the mixture of homes reflects the needs of the local community.”

In an earlier version of this article incorrect location and photographic details for the site appeared. We apologise to Davidsons Homes and the owner of the other site for this error.
