Rutland Nursery garden centre plans new cafe

The owners of a garden centre are hoping to grow their business with the opening of a new café building.

An application for a timber-clad building at Rutland Nursery in Lyndon Road, Manton aims to provide additional seating for people to consume food and drinks, which are already being served on the premises.

Since it was taken over by the Ellis family after the retirement in 2019 of previous owners, Bob and Trish Brown, Rutland Nursery has expanded.

A 100-seat restaurant overlooking Rutland Water reservoir was added last year, and a former café building on the site was converted into a wellness centre for yoga, Pilates and other activities, after regular health and wellbeing talks started taking place in the restaurant.
