Spalding man’s £550 fine for smoking joint
Smoking a joint under a disused bridge has cost a man £550.
Transport operator Jakub Kosidlo was spotted using cannabis in Spalding on December 19 of last year.
“On the day in question police found the defendant under a disused bridge on Mitchell (Drive) smoking a joint - it’s as simple as that,” prosecutor Turan Sunat told Boston magistrates on Wednesday (April 9).
The 22-year-old, of Dias Close, Spalding, pleaded guilty to being in possession of the Class B drug.
“Everything that was said is correct,” he said, defending himself.
Kosidlo was fined £338 and ordered to pay a £135 victim surcharge and £85 costs, to be paid within 28 days.
Magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drug.
