Suttons Medical Group rated as 'Good' in all areas by Care Quality Commission

The group that oversees Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge Medical Centres has welcomed a new report by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), rating it as 'Good' in all areas.

Suttons Medical Group was inspected in July this year and in 2018 following a requires improvement rating in 2017.

In 2018, inspectors moved the rating up to Good overall with a 'Requires Improvement' for providing a well-led service.

Its latest report praised the improvements it had made, rating it as Good in providing safe, caring, responsive and well–led services to its patients.

However, it did highlight areas where it should make improvements including improving the recording for significant events and ensuring the audit trail for sharing, learning and actions required for patient safety alerts is improved and embedded within the practice.

Partner Dr Alistair Rudd said: “We are delighted to have received a Good rating from the CQC. It’s testament to the great care our team provide our patients with, as well as the relationship we have with our patients.

“The whole team has put a huge amount of hard work and determination into building on our previous Good rating. We have done this through providing the highest quality safe services to our patients.”

Patsi Slater, Practice Business Manager, added: “We are delighted the CQC has recognised the work we have done, particularly around ensuring services are well-led, resulting in our rating of Good. Our patients are at the heart of everything we do and we are continually looking at where we can improve.”

Rebecca Neno, Deputy Chief Nurse for South Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group said: “We know how hard the practice team has worked to maintain their Good rating and we are delighted for them. General practice is challenging at the best of times, so it’s great to see the Suttons Medical Group continuing to build on and improve the healthcare for its patients.”
