‘Act like your nan is standing behind you!’ Fast food chain Wendy’s launches cheeky job adverts ahead of Spalding opening
A fast food restaurant is advertising for staff that can ‘act like your nan is standing behind you’ ahead of its highly-anticipated opening.
American burger chain Wendy’s will soon be serving up at Spalding’s Lincs Gateway site.
The restaurant and drive-thru recently secured planning permission to erect its famous logos at the under-construction site, which will be located near the town’s Taco Bell and KFC.
Now the business is advertising for shift manager and crew member roles - but in something of a cheeky manner.
“Our burgers are square, which means we don’t cut corners. So hopefully, neither do you,” the crew member ad states before spelling out what Wendy’s want from its employees.
“Solid social skills - you act like your nan is standing behind you (at least while you’re at work),” is one of the requirements, along with standing and moving ’for most - if not all - of your shift’.
Meanwhile, the shift manager must have one year of shift management experience but also willing to accept the perks of ‘free meals while working and discounts on days off’.
“If a Wendy’s restaurant was a person, it’d be you: fun, fast, friendly and a team player,” it added.
Both advertisements were posted on the Glassdoor website.
The official opening date for Wendy’s is yet to be announced.
