Wendy’s burger chain hopes to take step closer to opening Spalding restaurant




A new fast food restaurant will take a step closer to opening for business if its latest planning application is passed.

Construction worn has already begun at the Wendy’s restaurant at Spalding’s Lincs Gateway Business Park, where it will neighbour the KFC, Taco Bell, Subway, Greggs and Tulip Queen dining options.

The American company is the world’s third-largest hamburger chain behind McDonald’s and Burger King.

Now Jenga Real Estate, who are behind the plans, have applied for advertising consent to show off the business’ famous logos from the restaurant.

“The application seeks advertisement consent for exterior signage relating to the letting of building one to Wendy’s and comprises three internally illuminated signs and two non-illuminated signs on the building and one internally illuminated totem sign on the north of the site,” the covering letter by agent Freeths explains.

“These all reflect Wendy’s standard branding. The three. illuminated signs include one Wendy’s wave sign, featuring acrylic opal lettering to be affixed directly onto the west elevation of the building, and two acrylic cameo signs, one affixed to the east elevation, above the drive-thru window, and one to the south elevation of the building.

“The two non-illuminated signs comprise one ‘made fresh to order’ sign on the west elevation of the building, and one ‘delivery pick-up’ sign on the east elevation of the building.

“Both of these signs incorporate 3D letters with a powder coated finish.”
