Enterprise Way reopens at Spalding Road junction as roadworks come to an end
A busy junction has now reopened to traffic - as the latest stage of the relief road project comes to a close.
The work at the bottom of Enterprise Way, where the busy route meets Spalding Road, have now been cleared - meaning motorists can access the industrial estate from the new roundabout. The junction has been shut since the end of July.
Temporary traffic lights that had been in place near the Johnson Hospital have also been cleared and are not due to return.
However, tonight will see one last overnight closure of the road before this section of the project is officially finished.
Earlier this week we reported that the next phase of the Spalding Western Relief Road work will centre on the construction of the bridge over the railway.
This is all part of the northern section of a road that is intended to be a bypass for the town and, according to county chiefs, aims to alleviate traffic congestion caused by railway crossings.
However, this section will lead from the new roundabout to the Vernatt's Drain - and two further sections heading towards Spalding Common are not yet funded or booked in.
