Corrie actress opens Adventure Land

Coronation Street actress Samia Ghadie officially opened Springfields Outlet's new leisure destination Adventure Land on Saturday.

The opening weekend included a whole host of entertainment, with Samba dancers, a steel drumming band, jugglers, stilt walkers, plus face painting and glitter art for kids.

Visitors also had a chance to meet the new Adventure Land-themed characters, including a JCB transformer, Dino and Goldie from the mini-golf and gold panning attractions.

Springy’s Diner was also open, selling an American-style menu of burgers, milkshakes and gelato ice cream.

Adventure Land includes the UK’s largest JCB Young Drivers Zone where children can drive around in bright yellow diggers.

Families can walk through the trees in the new Tree Top Village and Springy’s Beach offers a sand play area and rock pool water stream all covered by a huge canopy, so children will be able to have fun whatever the weather.

There is also Dino Golf, panning for gold at Goldie’s Gold Mine and a miniature railway.

Weston Hills Primary School pupil Evie Ireland won the competition to design a flag to fly over the JCB Young Drivers Zone.
