Man opens Frontside Barbershop in Bourne
A barber with big dreams has set up shop for himself.
Since his early teenage years Ben Neighbour, 24, knew he wanted his own barber’s shop. And now, after grafting for others, he has opened a place he can call his own - Frontside Barbershop in Bourne.
“The whole time I knew where I wanted to be so I started saving money, getting work experience and learning about things beyond cutting hair,” said Ben.
“I wanted to stay local, so for me Bourne was the perfect place for my business.”
Ben, who is from Stamford, describes himself as a ‘people person’ who enjoys chatting, a trait which often got him into trouble at school and led to him leaving education to start working.
“I knew growing up I wouldn’t be a good fit for an office job - it just isn’t for me as I’m too hands on,” he said. “From then I always knew this is what I wanted to do.”
While he loves the social aspect, his favourite part of the job is boosting people’s confidence by transforming their appearance.
Ben stocks his own hair product range and has plans to design clothes to sell at the premises in West Street.
“I want it to be more than just a barber’s shop,” he explained.
“I am excited and at the same time nervous but I won’t stop until it is a success.”
Frontside Barbershop will be opening soon.
