Driver needing hospital treatment after collision with lorry at Sutterton roundabout - motorists warned of ‘severe delays’ on A16 and A17
Motorists are being warned of ‘severe delays’ at a busy roundabout after a collision left a driver needing hospital treatment.
One eyewitness described the scene near Sutterton roundabout, which links the A16 and A17, as ‘bedlam’.
There has been a collision involving a car and a lorry on the section of the A17 leading to the roundabout from the Wigtoft direction, with delays also caused on the A16.
A Lincolnshire Police statement said the incident was reported around 2pm this afternoon on the northbound side of the A17, near the junction B1397
“It’s a collision involving the driver of a lorry and the driver of an orange Honda Jazz,” it added.
“The driver of the Honda will be taken to hospital to assess their injuries. It’s unknown what the injuries are at this stage.”
An AA Traffic website status said: “Severe delays of 11 minutes and delays easing on Station Road Westbound in Lincolnshire.
“Average speed ten mph.”
One motorist queuing on the road contacted LincsOnline to describe the incident as ‘bedlam’.
