Spalding's Winsover Centre could be getting electric vehicle charging points

Plans for eight electric vehicle chargers in a town-centre car park have been passed.

South Holland District Council have given the green light for the erection of a substation, eight ultra-rapid electric vehicle chargers and associated electrical equipment within the car parking area of the Winsover Centre in Spalding - situated in the existing car park for the Lidl store.

“Two Kempower Charging points will serve four parking spaces and measure 1m in width, 1.5m in depth and be 1m in height, across both rows of parking spaces,” the original proposal stated.

“The power units, feeder pillar and substation, will all be sited to the southeast of the proposed sitting of the second row of electric vehicle parking spaces.”

Six electric vehicle parking bays are currently being installed at the Spalding bus station car park.
