Bourne estate agent Eckfords merged with Spalding based R Longstaff

A South Lincolnshire estate agents has acquired another firm in its latest expansion move.

R. Longstaff & Co, which has offices in Spalding, Bourne and Grantham, has now merged with Eckfords.

Rex and Angela Eckford established the Bourne based firm in the early 1990s - and Angela is now residential sales manager for the town branch.

Jane Willis and Catherine Corefield, who have worked with Rex and Angela Eckford for many years, have joined the existing Bourne team, bringing with them a wealth of experience and contacts in the area.

They have worked on many ‘new build sales’ through the Elsea Park development over the last 20 years, which will continue.

Partner Robbie Longstaff is delighted with the latest acquisition.

He said: “This is exciting news for Longstaff as a business.

“We are confident that our acquisition of Eckfords - and merger of their team into our existing residential sales and lettings team - will bring even greater strength and experience from which our clients will reap the benefits.”

The Eckfords branded office will continue to operate from its existing site in West Street, while the R Longstaff & Co branch remains open in the premises in Abbey Road.

Most residential sales are likely to be dealt with by Eckfords but both offices will continue to be involved in residential letting and property management.

This is the second acquisition in recent years for R. Longstaff & Co.

In 2022, the firm took over Escritt Barrell Golding to forge a stronger position in the agricultural and commercial sectors in the Grantham district.

In May 2010, Longstaff purchased the residential lettings and management business of Lyalls Lettings in Bourne.

This then merged with the company’s existing Bourne office, which had opened in 2006.

R Longstaff & Co will continue to cover all aspects of the other commercial, agricultural, professional and valuation work as well.

The company has been established for more than 200 years.
