Coronavirus: The Ivy's Farm Shop, at Swineshead, has new call and collect service

The Ivy’s Farm Shop, off the A17 at Swineshead, is running a new ‘call and collect’ service for people to get their fresh fruit, veg and other products.

Their shop is still open from 8am until 4pm, Monday to Sunday, with strict social distancing measures in place.

Markings are on the floor so that people keep two metres apart and staff ensure they step back when customers place their items on the till area.

Farm manager Roy Hilton said: “People can contact us for their orders and we will put it together for them and put it in their car boot.

“We are serving the local community and we have had a lot of support over the years. People are now realising farm fresh is better and they can come to us in an airy environment and we will bring it out to their vehicle.

“Customers are now appreciating their local village shop and I think people’s attitudes towards smaller businesses are changing.”

And while he said that prices may be a little higher than the supermarkets, he feels the quality speaks for itself. Their customers over the years have come from as far away as Melton Mowbray and Bourne. Their meat is supplied by butcher Simon Johnson.

“The call and collect scheme has been well received by our customers,” he added.

People can call through their orders on 07852 117870 or email: patmanorivycollect20@btinternet.com between 9am and midday, Monday to Friday, and they will be ready for collection the following day.

Items that can be ordered include fresh meat, sausages, bacon, eggs, butter, milk and fresh fruit and vegetables, plus cakes, jams, plum bread and pickles.
