World-famous Wendy’s logos approved for Spalding restaurant and drive-thru off A16
A fast food restaurant restaurant and drive-thru has taken a step closer to opening.
South Holland District Council has approved an application for Wendy’s world-famous signage to be installed at their under-construction site at Spaldings’ Lincolnshire Gateway Business Park off the A16.
News that the popular American burger chain is planning to open up in South Holland has whetted the appetite of fast food fans since the plans were revealed in early 2023.
This latest step forward has seen approval given for advertisement consent - applied for by Jenga Real Estate - which includes three internally illuminated fascia signs, two non-illuminated fascia signs and one internally illuminated totem sign.
“The application site comprises approximately 0.4 hectares of land to the south of Spalding,” the SHDC planning officer’s report stated.
“The site comprises a vacant plot of land that is being developed.
“The site is part of the wider Lincolnshire Gateway Business Park site granted outline planning permission in 2014 and is situated to the west of the existing Applegreen petrol filling station and services built under that permission.
Taco Bell, KFC, Greggs and Subway are among the other fast food outlets available at the business park, which is also home to the Tulip Queen restaurant and hotel.
