Spalding May fun fair returns this week
The traditional May fun fair returns to Spalding this Thursday.
The event was part of the Flower Parade weekend and carried on when that ended - but has been postponed for the last two years due to Covid.
Rides and attractions will be set up in Victoria Street Car Park and the fair will run from Thursday April 28 to Monday May 2.
It will include a tots train ride, inflatable slide and rides such as Disco Fever, Waltzers, Dodgems, Sizzler Twist, Crazy Hopper.
The star attraction will be Devil Rock - a giant swing ride, which sees its riders swinging 125 degrees at skywards at high-speed for big views as well as thrills and spills.
Organiser Roger Tuby said: “Thanks to the assistance of the local authority the fair which was always a popular event is back.
"The rides and attractions we are bringing have once again all been hand picked to appeal to all the family and where better to bring such equipment than to the heart of the town.
"We would like to encourage people to come down to the fair and see what we have to offer in the range of rides and attractions, and also visit the town and support the local shops, I am sure they will not be disappointed.”
The fair will open from 6pm to 10pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 1pm to 10pm, on Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday.
Mr Tuby did manage to return for the first time since the pandemic began in October, but this is the first May event since 2019.
