Pinchbeck garden party and marquee hire business closes with a ‘heavy heart’

A garden party and marquee hire business has closed with immediate effect, it has announced.

Pinchbeck-based Tilly’s – which also ran pop-up pubs in the area – will cease operating following the recent death of popular owner Nick Stockdale.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I let you know that I am going to close Tilly’s with immediate effect,” a statement posted on social media by Mr Stockdale’s wife Karen read.

“Since Nick’s death I’ve been struggling with the reality of continuing to manage our business with the impact of grief on my two daughters and myself.

“It is extremely difficult to give our customers the 100% attention they deserve when as a family we are feeling so shocked and devastated.”

Mr Stockdale, 57, sadly passed away following a collision in Derbyshire in January.

The statement also included a message for customers who have bookings with the firm.

It continued: “For the wonderful people who have booked with Tilly I will be in touch in due course to return your deposits and recommend alternative suppliers to help you where I can.

“My thanks to everyone who has supported Tilly’s, Nick and our family over the years. Customers and our wonderful team of staff – it’s been a pleasure to work with you all.”
