Spokesman for Robert Goddard which has stores in Spalding, Wisbech and Lincoln, says it is not going into liquidation
A spokesman from a popular town centre store has denied rumours that it is going into liquidation.
Designer fashion brand chain Robert Goddard, which has branches in Spalding, Lincoln and Wisbech, is expanding and doing well, says the firm’s Andy Woodthorpe.
There were fears on social media that the Spalding branch in Market Place would be shutting and leave a big hole in the town centre.
Mr Woodthorpe said: “I can categorically state we are not going into liquidation.”
The company’s Peterborough site has closed however two new stores have opened in St Albans and Royal Leamington Spa.
There has been confusion as another company with a similar name is showing an showing an insolvency case on Companies House.
Opening hours of the Spalding store have recently changed. It continues to open Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30am - 5pm.
Mr Woodthorpe said that operating on a five day basis has not affected revenue, helps with staffing, safeguarding and working for the trading model in the town.
He added that the company is still expanding and that the business is ‘doing really well’ as other stores replicate this model of trading hours.
