Petalo Lounge in Springfields Outlet, Spalding is, set to create 30 new jobs

A new ‘cosy’ restaurant - which will create 30 new jobs - is on track to open next month.

Petalo Lounge is due to be welcoming its first customers to its new restaurant at Springfields Outlet Shopping and Leisure, in Spalding, on Wednesday, November 6.

The former Frankie & Benny’s building has been transformed to create a cosy atmosphere, with heavily patterned wallpaper, oversized vintage sofas, eclectic artwork, statement light fittings and much more.

It will be part of the ‘informal cafe and bar’ chain, Loungers, which was originally launched in Bristol and now has more than 200 sites nationwide.

The new restaurant is set to offer 30 job opportunities for people in the community.

Ian Sanderson, Head of Springfields said: “Petalo Lounge perfectly fits our destination as it appeals to a diverse customer base and offers something for everyone.

“The ‘home-from-home’ atmosphere makes it the perfect place for visitors to relax and take a break during their day out at Springfields. We look forward to welcoming the new restaurant in November, expanding our food offering for our visitors ahead of the busy festive period.”

The all-day menu will feature everything from breakfast, tapas, salads, burgers and buttermilk fried chicken – those following a vegan or gluten-free diet will be well catered for with separate menus.

It promises to also be a great spot for families and accomodate for ‘little loungers’ with a selection of games, books, colouring pencils, pads, baby changing facilities and high chairs.
