Burst water main delays work on Spalding’s Pinchbeck Road

Roadworks which have been causing a nightmare for motorists are set to go on a little longer due to a burst water main.

Pinchbeck Road, in Spalding, was due to open today (April 22) after multi-way signals were installed three weeks ago.

The roadworks, which are being carried out by Cadent, have been delayed and motorists are set to face even more disruption – as the school Easter holidays come to an end.

A spokesperson for Cadent said: “We can confirm that the works that we are carrying out in Pinchbeck Road have been delayed due to a burst water service.

“We are currently working with Anglian Water who are going to be carrying out the necessary repairs.

“Unfortunately, we don’t yet have an update on when the repair works will be carried out, so we are unable to give an anticipated date for when our project can be completed.

“We are doing everything that we can to minimise disruption, and we thank everybody for their patience and understanding.”

Cadent also closed Woolram Wygate at the beginning of the month in order to replace old gas pipes with new plastic ones, so houses in the area will be ‘ready for greener gas in the future.’
