The firm was launched in Kenya in 1982 and has grown to employ more than 24,000 people across the world.

A company spokesman said: "We had hot food, party games, live music all afternoon provided by local band JD, and a charity raffle.

"As a company we wanted to pick a local charity to support and raise money for during our

40th anniversary celebrations this is when we found ‘Make them Smile’.

"They are a small national charity that assists children, within the UK that suffer from a wide range of adverse medical conditions such as, but not excluding leukaemia, cerebral palsy, the deaf, blind, terminal illnesses, disabilities or are from a disadvantaged background.

"They treat each appeal for help on a case-by-case basis for children meeting our charities guidelines.

"We are desperately trying to raise funds to allow us to extend our reach to many more families, whether it’s for day trips, medical equipment, respite breaks, hospital travel or "educational equipment.

"As a company we are honoured to be able to support and raise money for such an amazing charity who didn’t receive any funding during covid, but they still managed to get through and carry on helping all these children and their families.

"We raised £1,720 over two of our sites by selling raffle tickets to our staff."
