Lincolnshire Police bosses vow they are working ‘tirelessly to bring communities justice’ – as cases of graffiti incidents soar in Spalding and surrounding areas

Police bosses have vowed they are working ‘tirelessly to bring communities justice’ — and asked members of the public to help identify graffiti vandals who are blighting the area.

In recent weeks Spalding has seen an increase in graffiti incidents. Some of the areas which have been reported include the town’s skate park on Holbeach Road, South Holland District Council’s offices on Priory Road, the old Bull and Monkie pub on Churchgate, and a second political tag also appeared on the popular Flower Parade mural created by street artists, at the former Calthrops Solicitors building, in Market Place.

Weston has also seen vandalism and graffiti appear on new bus stops.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Police continue to work in partnership with South Holland District Council to investigate reports of graffiti in the Spalding area.

“We are looking at all available lines of enquiry but would strongly encourage anyone who has any information on this subject to contact either the local policing team at Spalding or the South Holland Community Safety Team.

“We would ask members of the public if they come across any graffiti which they suspect to be new to please ensure they report it asap, to allow enquiries into identifying the culprit to be expedited. We will work tirelessly to bring to justice those impacting our communities with this unacceptable behaviour. “

This appeal from the police comes after district council leader Nick Worth, said his authority is taking graffiti in the town ‘very seriously’.
