New Eastern Spice in Crowland awarded five star rating by South Holland District Council for food hygiene




A takeaway owner has spoken of his pride at being awarded top marks for food hygiene.

New Eastern Spice in Crowland received the five star rating when inspectors from South Holland District Council visited on Thursday, April 18.

Manager Fakhar Majeed has worked at the premises for a decade serving the community with pizza, kebabs and curries.

He said: “We are pleased to announce that we have received our five star food hygiene rating.

“Credit goes to all staff in working tremendously hard in maintaining the high level of food standards in our takeaway.”

The takeaway has been in the village for 14 years and Mr Majeed says the success of the shop is due to the support from the community.

He said: “We have always had a good rating.

“It is down to the people around us supporting us and their continuous support.

“While we are providing good food customers keep coming back for more and more.”

There are four full time staff and delivery drivers cover a large area delivering hot food to customers as far afield as Spalding.
