Woodhead community champions spruce up St Mary’s Primary School in Weston
A village primary school now has a bright and colourful entrance after receiving a generous spruce up by the community champions at Woodheads.
Staff from the food manufacturing company in Pinchbeck contacted the school to discuss donating their time to help revamp the entrance of St Mary’s Church of England Primary School in Weston.
Head of School Rachael Walker said: “We are really grateful for the efforts put in by everyone, it has really lifted the place up.”
St Mary’s Primary School Clerical Assistant Rachel Horn added: “It is absolutely amazing, we can’t thank everyone involved enough.”
Some of the changes made included: cleaning ivy off the surrounding fences, repainting the shelter, planting and hanging up new flowers and shrubs, replacing the old bench and more.
The work was completed over four days with the help from Morrisons Engineering Apprentices Grant Willis (17), Kyle Barnes (24) and Toby Rear (21). It also received donations from Lowlands Nursery who supplied and delivered all of the flowers.
Organiser of the project Tina Ellis who is the Community Champion at Woodheads said: “ It looks really good, the apprentices were working on it come rain and showers.”
