Spalding Waste Recycling Centre currently experiencing ‘limited capacity’

Spalding’s Waste Recycling Centre currently has ‘limited capacity’.

Residents looking to unload items from a trailer have been warned it would be best to ‘visit another day’ after ‘extremely long queues’ have again forming.

This is not the first time this week the site has proven busy – with long queues also experienced over the weekend and on Friday.

A statement put out by Lincolnshire County Council – who run the West Marsh Road site – this afternoon warned warned: “Spalding Recycling Centre currently has limited capacity, we'd advise anyone with a trailer to visit another day.”

Earlier today, the council warned of ‘extremely long queues’ and suggested users ‘visit another day’.

The authority recently explained to this paper how a number of factors could lead to delays or items not being accepted at the site, while warmer days and weekends can lead to a higher volume of traffic.

“Spalding Recycling Centre is particularly busy for garden waste, and this can lead to traffic queuing to enter the site,” a spokesperson said.

“When that happens, we like to try and advise residents so they can plan to visit at another time if possible.

“Staff on all our sites work to help residents come through the site as quickly as possible and avoid lengthy queues.

“We’d advise residents to check their local recycling centre’s page on our website before they visit, just to see if there are currently any disruptions they might need to be aware of.”
