Spalding charity joins forces with sewing group providing scrubs for NHS heroes
A Lincolnshire sewing group which is working tirelessly to provide scrubs for frontline workers has joined forced with a Spalding charity to help them in continuing their effort.
For the Love of Scrubs is supplying homemade garments for hospitals and medical centres across the county thanks to donations of fabric and funds - and with a constant stream of orders, further help is required in order to meet demand.
The group has now teamed up with Spalding charity Ella’s Project to facilitate collections of more fabric.

Ros Reynolds, of the group, said: “Every single hospital and medical centre in Lincolnshire needs scrubs and we are working to help them all.
We really need duvet covers and sheets which are 100% cotton or polycotton which is 80/20 blend or 65/35 - if you can see your hand through them the material is too thin.
"It needs to be thick as it’s being washed at 60 degrees.
Mark Le Sage, of Ella’s Project, said: “As a nurse and chair of the Royal College of Nursing in our area, to be able to utilise our charity to support an amazing and important cause is great.”
If you are able to donate the required fabrics items should be in bags and can be dropped to the marked collection box outside 20 Edward Road, Spalding.
Karen Dunderdale, director of nursing at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) said: “We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in For the Love of Scrubs.
“We truly appreciate all of the support and generosity shown to us by so many throughout our county.
“Every single act of kindness undoubtedly helps and we are very, very grateful.”
Dorota Kowynia Kaczor, practice manager of Gosberton Medical Centre where staff have been provided with scrubs by the group, added: "We are very grateful to them. Since the minute the scrubs arrived, all clinical staff have been using them all of the time."
The group is also looking for help with delivering scrubs to designated drop-off points - in particular, those with motorbikes who could help with small packages.
