Man told to expect lengthy jail sentence for child sex offences in Spalding area

A man has been warned to expect a lengthy jail sentence after he admitted carrying out child sexual offences in the Spalding area.

Daniel Brundell, who gave an address in West Norfolk, was due to stand trial at Lincoln Crown Court on Tuesday April 22.

But the 60-year-old pleaded guilty to five charges on the morning of his trial before a jury was sworn in.

The offences include four charges of inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity and one charge of sexual assault.

All of the offences are alleged to have been committed in Spalding.

Recorder Adrian Jack told Brundell he would be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on May 29.

Brundell was granted bail but Recorder Jack warned him that a prison sentence of some length was the likely outcome.

"Please don't get your hopes up," Recorder Jack told Brundell.

Brundell will also now have to register as a sex offender.
