Springfields Events and Conference Centre in Spalding hosts sell-out show for model tractor enthusiasts

The organisers of a sell-out show for model tractor enthusiasts were pleased to attract a bigger crowd, putting the event firmly back on track.

Daniel Hewitt and Kerry Gooden have taken the reins of Spalding Model Tractor Show and their aim is to attract a large amount of collectors, dealers and visitors to future events.

The latest event took place at Springfields Events and Conference Centre on Saturday - and a wide range of toy and model tractors were on display along with construction models on offer.

Mr Hewitt said: “It went fantastically well since we took over this time last year.

“Last April saw 720 people attending and this year the count was 874.

“We are dealers ourselves in agricultural models and we were approached to take over perhaps to put some fresh blood into it and the rest is history.”

The new organisers hope to match previous numbers of about 1,000 people attending.

Chris Edwards, who used to organise the show and is still a seller at the event, said: “It was brilliant and well attended.

“I have attended the show for some years and it was fantastic.

“This year was one of the best for sales and the best show I have been to. There were a lot of people there.”

The event is bi-annual and the next show takes place at the same venue on Sunday, October 6.
