Dog fouling: Spray painter sends message in Quadring to dog owners who are not picking up their pet's mess
Someone, who is upset with dog owners not picking up their pet’s mess, has been spray painting circles around the evidence.
Dubbed the ‘dog poop circular’ the pictures were shared on Quadring village’s Facebook page.
Parish councillor, Andrew Jackson, said that there has been an increase in complaints about people not cleaning up after their pets on footpaths in the village.
“There have been several people commenting on it. There has been mess left on the footpath from opposite the village school going towards Main Road and the footpath that comes out at Watergate,” he said.
And he added last week that there had also been an ongoing problem with some of the dog waste bins in the village not being emptied regularly. This is the responsibility of South Holland District Council.
“The parish council purchased some new dog bins for the area last year and the bins are being used but the one down Boyfields and two down Watergate have not been emptied,” he said.
“I know we’ve got the coronavirus issue and there has been a slight change in shift patterns but these issues have been going on for a while.”
Spalding Today contacted the district council, which has confirmed that the bins have now been emptied and the issue regarding their regular emptying will be dealt with.
Coun Jackson did request that the person spray painting circles around the dog mess to please not do it on the hard surface (tarmac footpaths) as it would need cleaning off.
The district council is also notifying the dog warden about issues with people not picking up their dog’s mess in public areas in the village.
