Sun shines on Springfields Festival Gardens' Spring Flower and Garden Show

The sun shone on visitors at a blooming marvellous event at the weekend.

The Spring Flower and Garden Show took place at Springfields Festival Gardens - and saw a ‘fantastic’ turnout.

Visitors were able to make the most of some exciting attractions, including the annual daffodil competition show - which featured exhibits staged by dedicated horticulturists from across the country.

Taylors Bulbs and Adrian Jansen were on hand to showcase hundreds of daffodil varieties, while Joey Lowe and Elzbieta Gulbinovic showed off their works of art.

Outreach officer Inga Maxwell said: “It was extremely busy which was fantastic to see.

“We were also very fortunate that the outlet centre held an Easter trail which created some extra footfall for us.

“It was so well received and people seemed to be really pleased to see lovely displays.

“The gardens are full of bloom. The early daffodils have gone over now but the mid and later varieties are still there, while the tulips are coming up well.

“It was fantastic.”
