Queues seen outside Spalding barbers as people desperate for a haircut

Queues of people have been spotted outside barbers in Spalding this morning as restrictions are lifted.

Months of waiting for a haircut have finally come to an end as hairdressers and barbers are allowed to lift their shutters.

Along with the return of personal care, including nail bars, non-essential shops will be reopening this morning and pubs will be opening their beer gardens later.

Lines of people have been spotted outside a number of barbers in Spalding, including FJ Barber's.

Libraries and community centres are also due to be allowed to open their doors to the public today.

Gyms which have been closed for months will be able to welcome back individual clients or their households from this date.

Pubs and cafes will be allowed to serve people outdoors from today.

People will have to order, eat and drink while seated, but there is no need for a substantial meal with alcohol.

For those hoping to have a night away, self contained accommodation such as campsites and holiday lets will be reopened.

Outdoor attractions including zoos, theme parks and drive-in cinemas will also be allowed to open.

Up to 30 people will able to attend funerals while the number of people allowed at weddings will rise to 15.

After that, May 13 is the next important date for easing restrictions.

Play areas such as Weston’s Fun Farm are hoped to reopen from that date.
