The Original Factory Shop in Market Deeping will close in May

A town centre discount store is set to close later this month.

The last day of trading at The Original Factory Shop in Market Deeping will be on Friday, May 19.

The closest branch for shoppers to visit after that date is the newly opened store in Market Place, Spalding.

A spokesman for The Original Factory Shop said: “We regularly review the stores across our property estate and unfortunately have taken the decision to close our Market Deeping store.

“For the last few weeks, we have been consulting with colleagues at the store and are working hard to support all of those affected.

“We’d like to thank all our customers for their support and look forward to welcoming them at our Spalding store which is 12 miles away.”

The building in Market Place is available to let via Richard Chartered Surveyors for £60,000 per year.

It is one of the biggest retails spaces in Market Deeping, measuring 546sq m with additional storage space and parking.

A message from staff posted on the shop’s Facebook page said: “Thank you so much for all your support over the years. We have loved welcoming you in to the store and loved being part of the community.”
