Market Deeping has a Post Office again
Market Deeping has got a Post Office again - with the service opening in the Spar yesterday.
The town had been without a branch since the start of January, when the Postmaster resigned at the former location, in 88 Church Street.
The new facility, in Godsey Lane, will be open every day with services including bill payment, cash withdrawals, foreign currency, postage, home shopping collections and returns.
Matt Hatfull, Post Office Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored Post Office services as we know how important a Post Office is to a community and with significantly longer opening hours than before.
"We are really pleased to have re-opened the branch before the busy Christmas period.”
Post Office services are provided from two low-screened counters alongside the retail counter of the convenience store.
The opening hours are Monday to Saturday: 8am – 7pm; Sunday: 9am – 5pm.
Bosses say that the 74 hours of service a week ensure the town gets 28 hours a week more than previously.
