Trial of man who denies murder of Vadims Zmicerevskis in Spalding is delayed




The trial of a man who denies the murder of another man in Spalding has been put back until next month.

Viktors Zeglovs, 33, was due to stand trial at Lincoln Crown Court on April 28.

Mr Zeglovs denies the murder of Vadims Zmicerevskis, 45, who died after an incident at the junction of Green Lane and St Thomas' Road in Spalding on Monday, November 11.

But a pre-trial hearing at Lincoln Crown Court was today (Thursday, April 17) told his trial would not be ready to start until May.

Mr Zeglovs also denies a second charge of manslaughter relating to the unlawful killing of Mr Zmicerevskis on November 11 last year.

Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight adjourned the case for a trial beginning at Lincoln Crown Court on May 19.

The trial is expected to last seven days.

Mr Zeglovs remains remanded into custody and a further pre-trial hearing will take place on April 30.
