Gedney Hill woman in ‘critical condition’ after crash involving two buses and a fire engine near Northstowe, Cambridgeshire
A woman has suffered ‘serious injuries’ following a crash between two buses and a fire engine — and is currently in ‘critical condition’.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after officers and paramedics attended the collision on the B1050 Station Road in Cambridgeshire, at about 2pm yesterday (April 16).
A 44-year-old woman from Gedney Hill, is one of the 11 passengers who was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, and remains in ‘critical condition’ after sustaining ‘serious injuries’.
The fire engine, which was responding to an emergency call, collided with a single-decker Stagecoach bus travelling towards St Ives.
A second single-decker Stagecoach bus driving in the opposite direction was also involved.
Detective Inspector Garry Webb said: “This was a major collision which has seen numerous people left injured.
“I would like to hear from anyone who has yet to speak to officers about the collision.”
The ten other passengers, including the driver of the second bus, have been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
No arrests have been made.
