Michael Goode is appointed as the new manager of Bourne Town

Bourne Town have appointed Michael Goode as their new first team manager.

The club's director of football has been in charge of the Wakes' last three games following the departure of Steve Wilson.

He will be assisted by Dan Flack, who was part of Wilson's management team at the United Counties League Division One club.

A statement from the Wakes said: "We are delighted to announce that, after weeks of careful consideration, Mike Goode will become first team manager for the foreseeable future with Dan Flack as his assistant manager.

"This allows us to maintain continuity in achieving our goals for the season."

The Wakes host Holwell Sports tonight (Wednesday) and are without a league game this weekend.

They have also re-signed midfielder Shaun Archer from Premier Division South side Daventry Town.

Goode's former club, Deeping Rangers, entertain Coventry United in the League Cup on Saturday while Holbeach also have a weekend without league action.

Table-topping Spalding United head to Loughborough Dynamo in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

The Tulips are currently unbeaten in seven league games but will face a tricky test against sixth-placed Dynamo.

Boss Elliot Sandy said: "Loughborough had a good win last weekend and they're on a good run of form but there's no easy games for me in this league.

"I've said to our lads that we know the quality which we have in the dressing room but it's about the hard work and application that we put in on the training ground and on a Saturday because, if we're not at it, then anyone can beat us.

"We'll prepare right for Saturday and there will be a positive mood going into the game."

Spalding have signed former Notts County midfielder James Snedden who will be in their squad for Saturday's clash.

Snedden has made the switch from league rivals Shepshed and netted against the Tulips last month.
