NETBALL: Winning start to summer for Tulips
Spalding Netball Club's first-ever competitive game produced a victory at the start of the Boston League summer season.
The Tulips beat the Falcons 27-17 last night thanks to a superb team performance.
Captain Hayley Stevens said: "Some great centre pass plays gave us a great seven-goal lead in the first quarter.
"We continued to push through with some great interceptions in the circle and held the lead, widening the gap with each quarter.
"Falcons came out fighting in the final quarter, winning that by one goal, but it wasn’t enough.
"Special mention to Eden Willmott for the umpire's player-of-the-match award and Sophie Hunt who was the players' player."
