Memorial match for Adam Jackson
Past and present players of Spalding United came together to remember a former team-mate on Saturday.
Two teams of Tulips players took on each other in a memorial match for Adam Jackson at the Sir Halley Stewart ground.
Jackson was part of the Tulips' United Counties League title-winning squad in 2012/13 and his team-mates from that side joined forces again under the management of Pat Rayment, Marcus Ebdon and Danny Hussey.
They faced Dave Frecklington and Chris Rawlinson's side who reached the Northern Premier League play-offs in 2017.
An entertaining contest ended in a 4-3 victory for Frecklington and Rawlinson's charges.
Brad Wells netted twice for the victors with current Spalding skipper Nathan Stainfield and Lee Beeson also on target.
Lewis Webb bagged a brace for the 2012/13 title winners who also had Michael Frew on target.
The match was preceded by an Under 11s game between Spalding United and Holbeach. All proceeds from the event will go in trust for Adam's daughters Myla and Ennis.
