Spalding United sign former Brackley Town player Glenn Walker
An FA Trophy winner who starred in this season's National League North play-off final has become the latest addition to the Spalding United ranks.
The Tulips have secured the services of Glenn Walker from National League North side Brackley Town for the coming campaign.
Walker was club captain of the step two side last season and is Brackley's record appearance holder having played more than 400 games for the club.
He was part of the Brackley side that won the FA Trophy in 2018 and played a pivotal part in helping the club reach the National League North play-off final this year.
Tulips boss Elliot Sandy is a former team-mate of Walker and was delighted with his new acqusition.
He said: "Glenn is an outstanding signing for us.
"He's a born winner and leader and exactly the type of player we want in the dressing room."
Walker has also played for Banbury United, Long Buckby and Hednesford Town before his sterling stint with Brackley and is looking forward to the challenge ahead with the Tulips.
He said: "This is a club with ambition that wants to move up the football pyramid.
"I've played alongside the manager and it now feels the right time in my career to get that partnership going again in a different way and experience success again."
The arrival of the versatile left-sided player follows the acquisition of midfielder Joe Curtis.
Curtis joins the Tulips from Southern League Premier Division Central side Bromsgrove Sporting where he made more than 30 starts for the step three side last season.
The 29-year-old started his career with Southampton and has also played for AFC Rushden & Diamonds, St Ives, Corby and Stratford.
He becomes the third player to commit to the Tulips for next season following striker Jordan Graham's arrival from Kettering Town.
